Meet Our Senior Management Team

Cal National Bank is fortunate to have a dedicated senior management team with a wealth of banking experience.

Gregory A. Mitchell
President and Chief Executive Officer

Greg Mitchell joined California National Bank in June of 2001 and currently serves as its President and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining California National Bank, Mr. Mitchell was a Principal with Hovde Financial where he was responsible for the formation and management of its West Coast investment banking, financial advisory and fund management practice. Mr. Mitchell also served 10 years with the Office of Thrift Supervision where he was responsible for recapitalizing and restructuring troubled thrift institutions. Mr. Mitchell recently retired as a commissioned officer from the United States Coast Guard Reserves where he served as a Search and Rescue Coordinator. Mr. Mitchell holds a BS in Business from the University of the Pacific, a master’s degree from the George Washington University, and a post-graduate certificate in commercial banking from the Pacific Coast Banking School, University of Washington.

Lorena McWilliams
Executive Vice President
Chief Administrative Officer

Lorena McWilliams became Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary of California National Bank in July 2001. As chief administrative officer, she is responsible for human resources, central banking operations, technical support, information technology, ATM/debit card processing, and loss prevention.

Prior to Cal National, Ms. McWilliams spent 12 years at OneCentral Bank, a small independent Business Bank, where she was Sr. Vice President-Cashier/CFO. She had responsibilities for data processing, conversions, implementation of new products, central operations, accounting, compliance and security. She also was responsible for human resources, purchasing, facilities, and as corporate secretary, shareholder relations.

After OneCentral was purchased by Glendale Federal (then later by Cal Fed), Ms. McWilliams was the Sr. Vice President responsible for Business Banking Operations. For the business clients, her departments included business banking operations, cash management product operations, commercial note department, and VIP relationship management.

Born in San Diego, Ms. McWilliams received Bachelors Degrees in French and Psychology from USC. She earned her Masters in Business Administration from UCLA in 1999.

Edward "Ted" J. Kellogg
Executive Vice President
Chief Lending Officer

Ted Kellogg joined California National Bank on February 1, 2000 as its Chief Credit Officer. On November 13, 2001, Mr. Kellogg assumed the responsibility of Chief Lending Officer. Prior to joining California National Bank, Mr. Kellogg was Executive Vice President of First Security Bank of California (formerly California State Bank), where he was responsible for directing loan origination of interim construction, bridge acquisition and term lending for the Real Estate Lending Group for Southern California. Mr. Kellogg has had oversight responsibility for underwriting and credit approval of Real Estate loans totaling in excess of $1.0 Billion of 1994–2001.

Mr. Kellogg’s Real Estate Lending career, which spans in excess of twenty years, includes Loan Origination, Loan Workout and Problem Asset Resolution including ORE disposition. A veteran of three prior business cycles in California Real Estate Lending, Mr. Kellogg possesses in depth knowledge of various real property types including residential subdivisions, apartments, industrial, office and retail properties as well as a keen sense of market dynamics, emerging trends and a knowledge of the active local Real Estate developers.

Matt Bonaccorso
Executive Vice President
Chief Credit Officer

Matt Bonaccorso joined California National Bank as its EVP and Chief Credit Officer on November 13, 2001. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Bonaccorso served as Chief Operating Officer of KnowledgeFirst, Inc. Matt led all functional disciplines including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Finance and Operations in this high tech VC funded startup. The company developed high quality web based software delivered in a secure application service provider environment to various constituencies in the financial services industry.

Mr. Bonaccorso previously accumulated an extensive background in commercial banking with more than 20 years spent at Bank of America in senior management positions. During his tenure with Bank of America, he ran large organizations responsible for credit and loan production in addition to many of the credit support functions with special emphasis on commercial real estate and construction lending. Prior to entering graduate school at UCLA’s Anderson School, Matt earned a CPA certificate and acquired "Big 5" experience.
